HEAD OF TECHNICAL DIVISION - HR/HTD/004/2016

Scope of Duty:  Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
The Head of Technical Division is responsible for coordinating
all the functions of the technical operations in livestock, crops
and engineering including developing sound technical
strategies for improved production and efficiency.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
 The holder of this position should be between ages 35 –
50 years.
 Should have a minimum 5 years hands-on experience in
similar or senior position.
 Should posses Bsc. Agriculture or Veterinary medicine.
 Experience gained in Agricultural Sector is an added
advantage.
 Masters degree in the relevant discipline or MBA in
strategic management.
 Knowledge of computer systems is a requirement.
 Should be a team player with good interpersonal and
communication skills, coupled with initiative and drive.
 Should be a person of high integrity and be able to
provide proactive leadership in the technical division with
minimum supervision.

Key Result Areas
 Developing and implementing proactive strategies in crops
and animal production and breeding.
 Providing technical guidance in livestock breeding and
crop development.
 Liaising with relevant institutions in matters relating to
crops and animal production.
 Ensuring that all the input requirements are sourced on
time in readiness for timely planting of crops.
 Developing policies and technical procedures that will
ensure that all the operations are planned and
implemented according to the developed schedules.
 Participating in preparation of the technical budget and
ensuring that the budget is within the framework of the
overall corporate budget.

Ensuring that all the engineering operations of the
Corporation are run efficiently and optimum return is
derived from effective utilization of machinery and
implements.
 The officer should be able to give sound and professional
advise to the Management on all the technical operations
of the division.
